Indian Trail is a vibrant and diverse town that is only fifteen miles southeast of Charlotte, North Carolina. Located in Union County, the town was named in honor of the Native American path that went through this area from Petersburg to the Waxhaw Indians. Founded in 1861, Indian Trail was an agricultural community that gained prosperity in 1874 with the construction of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and became an official town in 1907.

Indian Trail activities include an Annual Pottery Sale; Community Pride Week; a Cultural Arts Festival; It’s A Wonderful Life Christmas Celebration; Sunset Series Movies & Concert Nights; Halloween Trunk or Trick; and the July 4th Parade. Lots of civic groups get involved within Indian Trail, as well, including Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops, Lions and Rotary Clubs, and a VFW Post.
