2023 LABOR DAY FACTS FROM WALLETHUB:

 

• 12% of Americans say they will travel less this Labor Day to save money. By the same token, 57% of Americans plan to go out of town for the holiday, with 16% traveling to a beach or a lake.
• 21% of Americans plan to attend a party on Labor Day.
• 450+ traffic fatalities and 52,000 serious traffic accidents are expected over the Labor Day weekend… so drive safely.
• 69% of Americans say Labor Day is their favorite holiday. (That’s up 1% over last year.)
• 51% of Americans have not taken a vacation in over one year. 55% have left vacation days on the table in 2022. 23% of workers earn no vacation days.
• Some 77 races will be held across America this Labor Day weekend.
• 61% of Americans plan to barbecue this Labor Day holiday. 818 million hot dogs are consumed between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
• 71% of Americans approve of labor unions. This is the highest level of approval since 1965. 16 million workers were members of a union in 2022.
