FESTIVALS IN BALLANTYNE: SEPTEMBER 14-15, 2024

CHARLOTTE’S BALLANTYNE IS AWASH IN FESTIVALS THIS COMING WEEKEND!

 

FESTIVAL OF INDIA

This is the 28th annual Festival of India held in Charlotte. On Sunday, September 15th you can enjoy “all things India” from Noon until 6:00 PM in Ballantyne’s Backyard located at 11611 North Community House Road. Admission is free. Get tickets for the Festival of India here. The Festival of India will include:

  • Enjoy all things India at the 28th annual Festival of Indian in Charlotte's Ballantyne area.Cultural exhibits art, poetry, handicrafts
  • Indian dance performances + dance workshop
  • An art gallery
  • Interactive kids art corner
  • Indian traditions: henna tattoos, saree draping, turban tying and more
  • Indian cuisine at the food court
  • Indian souvenirs at the Bazaar
  • Yoga exhibit
  • Rangoli Workshop

At 7:00 PM you can experience a grand finale with an extraordinary symphony, first-ever partnership with Charlotte Symphony, featuring compositions by Reena Esmail, Shruti Rajasekar, and AR Rahman, plus a unique fusion of Hindustani, Western Classical, and Jazz.

 

LOW COUNTRY CULTURE FESTIVAL

Also happening in Ballantyne’s Backyard located at 11611 North Community House Road is the Low Country Culture Festival, featuring a fusion of Lowcountry cuisine, soulful music, vibrant art, and the craftsmanship of local makers. You’ll be able to sample she-crab soup, watch the live art of basket weaving, enjoy Southern cocktails, learn the history of the Lowcountry, and more. MORE FESTIVALS IN BALLANTYNE SEPTEMBER 14 & 15, 2024

  • The Backyard Bash in Ballantyne’s Backyard: 11:00 AM till 10:00 PM on September 14th. Experience the multi-night live music concert series featuring world music from international artists and local bands, interactive dance performances, pop-up surprises, themed nights, food trucks, and kid activities.
  • Japanese Fish Collage and Print Making at the Arts & Crafts Tent by Ampersand Arts in Ballantyne’s Backyard. The tent will be open 11:00 AM till 7:30 PM on September 14th.
  • Circus Evo: Lost To Me in Ballantyne’s Backyard. Performances on Saturday, September 14th at 12:00 PM, 4:30 PM, and 7:00 PM. A 6:15 PM performance on Sunday, September 15th. This is an intimate circus performance with music, acrobatics, and storytelling. More about Circus Evo.
