ST SARKIS ARMENIAN FOOD FESTIVAL: JUNE 14-17
If you love exploring international cuisines and cultures, don’t miss out on the Armenian Food Festival this weekend, sponsored by St Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church. Indulge in traditional dishes like kebabs, dolma, and delicious pastries, Armenian wine, while enjoying live music, cultural performances and kid-friendly entertainment! CAMDEN COMMONS SOUTH END STREET FESTIVAL: JUNE 16
The free South End street festival along Camden Commons, which is South End’s main street, will feature music, food, street vendors and games on Sunday, June 16th (and also again on Sunday, June 30th). The street festival will take place from 11:00 am till 5:00 pm. South End streets will be shut down to traffic so you can enjoy the local food scene, playing nostalgic games, shopping local, and discovering community around every corner. Camden Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from Tremont Ave to East/West Blvd from 7:00 am till 8:00 pm. JUNETEENTH JAM KICK-OFF BLOCK PARTY: JUNE 15
Kick off the Juneteenth holiday with a summer block party from 3:00 pm till 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 15th at Levine Avenue! Hosted by Corey “C’Yo” Brown in partnership with Winston “Wilmo” Robinson, Executive Director of The Applesauce Group and Washington Kofi, Founder of the Kofi Creative Group, you’ll experience a taste of Africa LIVE meets A Vibe Outside.
Enjoy art, music, and fashion from the African diaspora, a DC-style GoGo band experience with the world-famous Iconic Truth Band + performances by Shaemovement, Kofi Creative Group, Royal Ezenwa, and a storytelling fashion show with the incomparable Hippie Conquest! Pop out to the block party! DJ Beezy and DJ Justice will be on the 1s and 2s, food vendors will be on-site, and the viral line dancers from Mad Miles Run Club. The Juneteeth Jam Kick-Off Block Party takes place at Levine Avenue at 500 South Tryon Street in Charlotte’s Uptown area.
And don’t forget about the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas, which began June 13th and runs through June 16th.
